Hello SouL Dance Family!
This is the one we've been counting down to all year. SouL in Motion — Second Edition is this Saturday, and there is a lot to catch up on before then. New students, students coming back to the floor, a big award for Sanda, and ballet every Monday.

SouL in Motion — Second Edition, Saturday, August 22nd

🎭 Presented by SouL Dance Studio & Vividiance
Last October's first edition nearly sold out a 135-seat theater and left the whole room buzzing. This year we're doing it again, and the theme is the 1980s — the music, the energy, the whole thing.
Our students will be performing solo routines they have been rehearsing for months, on a real theatre stage at the storied Cook Theatre. If you have ever wondered what all those Monday nights and private lessons add up to, this is it.
The professional show: Olivia Card & Anthony Kantin
We are also bringing in something special. Headlining the professional portion of the evening are Olivia Card and Anthony Kantin — three-time Open Worlds Invitational Cabaret Champions, Open British Blackpool Dance Festival Vice Champions, World Masters Champions, Heritage Classic Champions, and Dutch Open Vice Champions.
Cabaret is the style you're always wowed by — lifts, throws, and partnering that doesn't look like it should be physically possible. Seeing it live, in a theater this size, is a completely different experience.

🏆 Sanda Wins Crown Series Top Teacher Award
At the end of July, we were at the Florida State DanceSport Championships right here in Sarasota — and Sanda came home with the Crown Series Top Teacher Award.
The Crown Series is not a single competition. It runs across a full season of events on the national circuit, and points accumulate the whole way through. The final awards ceremony is held at Florida State DanceSport, which means this award is the result of an entire season of work, not one good weekend.
Thank you to every student who trained, competed, and showed up. This award has all of your names on it too.

We have four new faces at the studio and we could not be happier about it. Please say hello to Tan, Walter, Curt, and Peter.
Every one of them walked through the door not knowing exactly what to expect, which is the hardest part. The dancing is the easy part — we promise.
Back on the Floor
Lisa and Yardley are back with us after two years away. Life happened, as it does. Then they came back to what they love, and watching them pick it up again has been one of the best things about this summer.
Lucy and Blair have been putting in the work and it shows — the frame, the connection, the confidence. The difference from where they started is noticeable.
Elena and David as well. That look on their faces in this photo is exactly why we do this.
If you have been away from the studio for a while, take Lisa and Yardley as your sign. The floor is still here and so are we.
💃 Adult Ballet — Every Monday 💃
Our Adult Ballet series continues every Monday, taught by Sanda:

All levels are welcome, and we mean that. You do not need a background in ballet, you do not need a partner, and you do not need to be flexible yet. Ballet builds the posture, balance, core strength, and body awareness that make every other style of dance easier — which is why so many of our ballroom students end up in this class.
Strength. Grace. Confidence. That's the whole point.
Also, join us for our new Waltz Workshop group class every Tuesday at 6 pm.

Private Lessons
Private lessons are available by appointment, Monday through Saturday. Whether you are preparing for a competition, working on a wedding dance, polishing a routine, or just want to move faster than group class allows, nothing beats one-on-one time on the floor.
